Carol Wakefield’s career spans 30 years primarily in the financial services industry. She began her career as a commercial loan officer for Wells Fargo Bank in 1975 specializing in the financing of motion pictures and television and business managers and their clients. She went on to establish entertainment divisions for three different community banks in the Los Angeles area including Tokai Bank. While at Tokai, Carol created the first Taxable Bond program with the County of Los Angeles for the financing of motion pictures. She concluded her banking career as a “Workout Officer” for Wells Fargo Bank during the recession of the early 1990’s. Prior to joining AltaOne Federal Credit Union as the Manager of the Member Business Loan Department, Carol was the Chief Financial Officer of Magnetic Diagnostics, Inc, a research and development firm working toward the creation of a non-invasive glucose testing method for diabetics. Most recently, Carol completed the “Credit Union Guide to Business Lending” for the publisher, Sheshunoff. She is currently involved in guiding clients in the development and implementation of their own business lending functions in their financial institutions. She is active in the underwriting of member business loans for credit unions.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

  • Consults with Credit Union management for the creation, development, and implementation of member business loan programs.
  • Conducts loan reviews for credit unions and other financial services companies to maintain the integrity of their loan portfolio.
  • Conducts business lending training sessions.
  • Underwrites business loans for credit unions.
  • Assists individual clients with business plans and business loan packaging for debt placement and the raising of capital.
