Doug Benzine, Vice President in the Research and Advisory Services area with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). He is responsible for leading CUNA’s market research and consulting services. A key component has been his ability to develop a network of experienced professionals to meet the consulting and research needs of credit unions. He’s been assisting credit unions with their strategic initiatives for the last six years, utilizing his experience in numerous business disciplines to meet their unique needs.

Doug has represented CUNA at numerous speaking engagements ranging from technology to operations to member business services. His speaking engagements include national as well as international conferences.

He has spent the past 17 years working in the financial services industry. Previously working for the big five consulting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick (now Bearing Point) in their financial industry vertical. Prior to KPMG he managed a technology division for a large insurance company.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

  • Conducts leadership sessions for credit union executives based on strategic initiatives such as mergers, growth, and operations.
  • Evaluates operational activity and develops process improvements to increase financial performance of credit unions.
  • Former senior executive of CUNA’s technology company (CNS) responsible for sales, marketing, product management, and business development.
  • Conducts educational sessions for credit union personnel on business development/sales, operations, member business services, and technology to assist credit unions with business critical needs.
  • Develops strategies around e-business initiatives to improve utilization of online offerings.
  • Conducts assessment of operations to help credit unions determine the feasibility of offering Member Business Services.
